The Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced sections of ERG: 75 workouts for athletes provides a few core exercises in every workout to finish off your session.

Core exercises are an important part of a complete training program. Adding core to the end of your erg workouts will help to develop your deep stabilizers and your abdominal muscles. Training your core is a critical part of your overall power and fitness development and will aid in better balance and power delivery.

Some of the core exercises are dynamic and encourage movement along all three planes: back to front, side to side, and rotating. Using a physio ball will allow you to incorporate body stability into the movements. Your core stabilizers play a critical role in transferring energy throughout your erg stroke.
